Post Fight Interview
Recap
In a key lightweight bout, veteran experience won out over young potential as Sean Sherk (33-3-1 MMA, 7-3 UFC) secured a close but unanimous decision victory over Tyson Griffin (12-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC). Sherk had Griffin in trouble early after securing the Xtreme Couture fighter’s back and working for a rear-naked choke. Griffin, though, carried Sherk to his corner to receive instruction from Randy Couture and eventually broke free of the hold. It was the only real trouble Griffin, 24, was ever in, though the fighters traded more than a few solid blows through the three-round fight. In fact, after a few successful takedown attempts in the first, Sherk was content to keep the fight standing for the remainder of the bout. Griffin connected on a few bursts of strikes, but Sherk scored more frequently and with better accuracy thanks to an effective jab, quick knees and an array of combinations. “I was confident I won the fight,” Sherk said.

Very, very good fight. Toing and froing all the way. The way to beat Sherk is to be first with everything. Easier said than done, I know, but that’s the way. Griffin fought the best I’ve seen him yet.
Great fight!!!!!!!
they went toe 2 toe for the whole fight!!!
I would love to see sean sherk vs the California kid
that would be a good fight
it would b sick but he’d have to leave the WEC for one fight to go to the UFC, then he wouldent leave all hs title and promo’s for one fight, and then he’d have to get bac in the WEC, and alter his weight alot
meh tyson should have won two take downs isnt worth the beating tyson gave sherk in stand up
I’m with john on this one. The takedowns were nothing to Tyson he just stood right up.
The only think tyson couldn’t do was take down sherk. but i think it was a draw.
Does anybody know the name of the song and artist for Sean Sherk’s walkout music for UFC 90?
I think the name of the song is “BJ Penn owns me.”
