wow ill will i be the first one to drop a bomb? tight! haha that same recording was watched the same way i was watching it live via internet, i can tell by the anoying in/out buzzing. i have to say, at least it was a good ending, not no stupid “whoes your daddy” or “mercy” moves, “say mercy!” “say mercy!!!” haha. i love watching get knocked the f out with a knee. what the hell was sherk doing letting himself bounce off the fence?!?! lol damn that guy’s retarded, i mean you spend all that time training in/around the octagon and thinking he should already have an estimate or feel by heart of where the fence is… anyways, bad move. at the end bj tells sherk he can drop by hawaii and train with bj anytime…i wonder if he’s gona go…that would be fuckin funny lmao…
Is the sound in the video bad for anyone else?
good fight but a little dissapointed in Sherk! No takedowns?! Sherk just played into BJ’s strength, striking… whoever coached Sherk should be fired. This fight should have went to the ground. His BJJ is awesome but Sherk could have pounded him better on the ground. He couldn’t connect standing up with BJ, duh he has short arms. Dumb coaching.
Penn es increible , ojala haya una revancha, ya que sherk tambien es un peleador increible. Saludos
I want to see Penn go up in weight and bet the asshole Matt Hughes again. BJ is the best.
Boring Boxing Match..
Expected more out of BJ.
this is the reason why I like St. Pierre and Anderson Silvia.
DYNAMIC fights XD
Bj was great but I would have liked to seen more insane ji jitsu!
…some of that crazy dexterity he’s known for.
BUY AKI SYNDICATE SHIRTS
Angela, I agree. Both fighters were too cautious. It could have been a lot more exciting, if only they have the “kill or be killed” attitude of the lower ranking fighters in the card.
this fight was boring no offense to penn hes good and all but this fight was boring sherk sucks period why you think he took steriods to begin with penn is a natural fighter who said penn cant strike his strikes were 80% on target then again fight was still boring
Sherk can’t finish a fight. It always goes to judges’ decision.
I take issue with several comments here. Sean Sherk lost that fight, but to state that he can not finish a fight is simply incorrect.
Of Sean Sherk’s 32 - 3 - 1 (Win - Loss - Draw)
He has 8 KO’s, and 13 submissions that’s 21 of 32 fights he’s won that he stopped.
Sherk is a ground and pound fighter, he always has been. He did not execute the type of gameplan that played into his strengths. Instead, Sherk played into Penn’s strengths. Penn’s superior reach was a major factor in the fight, and it was something that Sherk was never able to counter. Watching the discpline of sherk’s strikes was impressive, but he was always about 3 inchs off in real space. His punchs looked hardler, more compact and more powerful than Pnn’s, but Penns jabs continually found their mark and kept Sherk at bay.
If Sherk had closed the distance, pushed Pen against the fence and cut off the ring form him, he would likely have given BJ a beating in my opinion, but obviously, that’s just conjecture at this point and something to let people chew over.
Penn on the other hand did exactly what he had to, to win the fight. He recognized that Sherk wasn’t trying to take him down and was content landing those jabbing punchs. Why change something that is WORKING? Much like Ortiz, you could feel it in the crowd how frustrated Sherk seemed to get after a while, and the more of BJ’s jabs that landed the worse things got.
What’s more…
of his last 17 fights… 13 of the fights were stopped by either submission or KO. Two of those, being losses by KO.
It’s hard to make any kind of case that Sherk’s fights always go to the judges table.
I said Sherk couldn’t finish a fight because his last 3 fights ended in decision (against Hermes Franca, Kenny Florian, and Nick Diaz). Maybe with B-list fighters, he can end the fight, but not with A-list fighters.
When me and my buddy ordered this, he was expecting to see BJ take the beating of his life, and as someone said, Sherk rushed way to much, yeah his punches were fast, but they hardly landed, i knew from the start BJ would beat him, but i figured it would be a submission, not a knockout, im not underestimating BJ but he DOES NOT have the kind of power Sherk has, and im a big Penn fan, and i totally didnt see that knee commin either
Sherk fought very lightly all the way through the match and Penn destroyed him enough to get him so tired and beat his ass up to win with 10 seconds left. Amezinggg
