   i was happy with the out come. close fights do not go to contenders, they go to the champions. also rogan did the fight a disadvantage calling everything rua did as “devastating!” i was no mystery who he was going for. as announcers you cant be biased. overall machida fought his fight. he was the cleaner striker and had great take down defense. it was a good fight. but you have to beat the champ, not barely match him.

   Yup agreed. You can’t just make it till the end of a fight and expect the judges to poop on the champion with out good cause to.

   Just watched the vid again. i must say, “really?” how can anyone think that rua won that fight??? the first through the third round were machida hands down. he won the exhanges and landed a great deal of his shots and and threw more than rua, while rua was content on landing maybe three definite body kicks, and spent the rest of his time kicking machidas hands and he was moving away and tryin to dead leg him in the corner. yes machida had a welt and a cut, but those do NOT determine a fight. strikes landed do. rua was the only one ever really in danger. the judges made the right decision. as for all that think rua was robbed, you should pay attention to the rules instead of your admiration of a pride legend. admiration and likability do not win fights. i like him too, but that shouldnt sway the actual outcome of the fight.

   Machida had a higher hit percentage. So i would say he won that fight technically. But Rua won that fight, he busted Machida up good.

   With reasoning like that you don’t have to tell anyone you are a rampage fan…LOL it shows…Machida got cut so he shoulda lost the fight? MMA will be in big trouble if you ever become a judge…
