Cung Le, holder of several sanshou world titles and probably the most famous practitioner of that style, has moved on to mixed martial arts competition, fighting under contract with Strikeforce. He recently fought Frank Shamrock, the middleweight champion, who is well-versed in hybrid wrestling and boxing.
Part 1
Part 2

great fight.
shamrock was unable to get the takedown. it is true that he seemed to be the one with the knoch out power. but kept at bay for most of it he didn’t get enough chances. and cung le broke his arm with kicks
if it was pride shamrock would be able to wait on his back more - and if the fight had no time limit… rounds and stand up priority ruined the sport.
cung le is amazing though.
Shamrock did not want to go to the ground. He said he wanted to beat Cung Le at his own game. Unfortunately, he underestimated Cung Le’s stand up game.
We still don’t know how Cung Le will fare against a top-notch groundfighter.
Cung Le again is great fighter!
That was a good fight. Cung Le fight a smart fight. Is Cung Le a good groundfighter or not we do not know, however, he has a good kick it is dangerous to approach him because he might kick you in the head. I think we will see Cung Le and Frank Shamrock Part 2.
cung le didn’t impress me that much since shamrock was clearly toying him and not able to use his fighting on the ground/grappling. shamrock lost it cus he was toying with him too much. if there is a rematch, a serious shamrock will destroy him.
Ryan, I agree. Shamrock did not give his best, otherwise he would have attempted more takedowns.
I would not underestimate Cung’s takedown defense though. It’s a big part of his San Shou.
LOL.
Low, shame, all you bias maggots.
Shamrock did tried to take Le down at least once, but Le broke away with Gracie’s technique and power. It was Shamrock’s luck that the bell ended 3rd round right after Le kicked him twice in the face, Shamrock would have been KO. It was a good fight, I like both of them and so did the fan - don’t sit behind a pc and bullshit -you lower yourself.
Clean fight, unable to get up and continue 4th round, a win is a WIN.
Admit defeat, nothing wrong and shame about it.
Ryan, just because you’re Shamrock’s fan, doesn’t mean he is a better fighter. so i wouldn’t talk shit about the match because if there’s a rematch, Shamrock wouldn’t want to see the same guy that broke his arm with kicks…..if i were you, i would have a lot of respect for cung le’s dangerous kicks instead of bull shiting the winner.
I was impressed with Cung’s ability to take a punch to the face. His durability needs no question. Cung’s kicks are uncanny. So far he has displayed the best equal amount of use hands and leg attacks.
Cung Le deserves the win. I’m disappointed with Shamrock for trying to “beat Cung at his own game.” Cung Le is an excellent stand up fighter. Shamrock is better on the ground. Shamrock paid for it for not taking the match more seriously.
Cung Le is very great fighter with super left leg, very great right leg, very great left hand, and supper right hand. No one can do scissor kick like Cung le.
Cung le is very intelligent fighter. Cung Le is humble, confident, smart, funy.
Cung le knocked fighters out by totally difirent ways. I don’t know what technique cung le will do to knock out next figter
