Kimbo Slice Fightography (Youtube Videos of Kimbo)

Kimbo Slice’s real name is Kevin Ferguson and is 33 years old. He is the cousin of US Olympic Judoka Rhadi Ferguson. Kimbo Slice worked as a bodyguard for RK Netmedia, a Miami-based porn company responsible for websites such as MILF Hunter.

Kimbo Slice was a Miami, Florida-based underground street fighter. The underground fight videos swept across the web making him an overnight sensation. The brutal knockouts, tough appearance of Kimbo, and catchy phrases increased his popularity. Kimbo appeared in eight street fight videos, winning seven of them. His lone lost was to Boston police officer, Sean Gannon.

Kimbo Slice vs. Big D

The original Kimbo fight, which took place in Leonard Byrd’s Miami backyard, hit the internet in 2004. This was the beginning of Kimbo’s stardom.

Kimbo Slice vs. Rasta (Dreads)

Several months later, the third Kimbo fight appeared and featured Kimbo fighting a dreadlocked-Rastafarian character, a match Kimbo won with little effort. The fight was filmed in the privacy of a deserted boatyard, imaginably somewhere in Miami.

Kimbo Slice Vs. Sean Gannon
The video with Byrd spread to countless internet MMA forums, eventually making its way to the MMA.tv website, where Boston police officer and amateur MMA fighter Sean Gannon noticed it. As the legend goes, Gannon saw the video, thought little of Kimbo’s skills, and challenged him, beginning the notorious Kimbo vs Gannon fight. The fight took place in an undisclosed, makeshift sparring location. Matt P. reports: “The makeshift location on the Kimbo/Gannon fight is Sityodtong
Boston in Somerville MA (Mark Delagrotte’s school).”

Kimbo Slice vs Afropuff and Big Mac

In December of 2006, a fourth Kimbo Slice video surfaced. Again at the boatyard, Kimbo this time fought two opponents in a row: first Afro Puff, a larger fighter characterized by a sizable afro who showed little response to Kimbo’s aggressiveness, and then Big Mac who, although more energetic, was easily knocked down multiple times. Next up is Big Mac, who is a short fat guy, who is a terrible fighter. Kimbo easy lands punches on him and knocks him down but Big Mac gets up and continues to fight.

Kimbo Slice vs. Adryan

In late December of 2006, the fifth Kimbo fight pitted Kimbo against a bodybuilder named Adryan. The fight was another held between the fences of a backyard. Adyran looks like he’s in decent shape and maybe he could give Kimbo a decent fight. This thought quickly dissipates after you see Adyran throw one “punch”.

Kimbo Slice vs. The Bouncer

March of 2007 brought the sixth Kimbo match against an opponent called The Bouncer. This fight took place in another backyard like the previous video. Controversy stirred when The Bouncer stepped on the shoe of Kimbo, causing Kimbo to fall, and continued fighting before Kimbo got up.

Kimbo Slice vs. Chico Grande

The last Kimbo street fight is with a guy named Chico. The fight is decent one with Chico appearing to have some fighting experience. He is in decent shape and besides Gannon, is the only person to knock Kimbo down. When it looks like he has a chance, Kimbo gets him into a corner and knocks him down.

Kimbo Slice vs. Ray Mercer (MMA)
You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video
Kimbo takes on former heavyweight champion of the world, Ray Mercer, in his first mma bout. Kimbo comes into the fight in excellent shape while Ray Mercer looks very old and heavy. Kimbo shows off his newly learned mma skills with clinches, knees, elbows and a guillotine. Ray obviously didn’t train that hard and only throws a few punches. Kimbo proved his skills with a victory via guillotine.

Kimbo Slice vs. Bo Cantrell (MMA)

Kimbo Slice takes on 10-10 fighter Bo Cantrell in his 2nd MMA fight. This fight doesn’t last long as Kimbo comes out and delivers one punch and an elbow to the head. Bo goes down and taps out as Kimbo jumps on top of him. Kimbo Slice is now 2-0 in MMA and is looking good.

MMA in Hong Kong Cinema

Flash Point Flash Point is a 2007 Hong Kong martial arts action film directed by Wilson Yip. Donnie Yen, the film’s producer and star, choreographed the action sequences.

For the fight scenes, Yen used Mixed Martial Arts, an interdisciplinary form of fighting utilizing elements of Jiu-jitsu, Judo, Karate, Boxing, Kickboxing and Wrestling. This method of fighting is something Yen considers to be the greatest development of Martial Arts in his lifetime. According to the film’s official website, Yen admits that his challenge during filming was to communicate the essence of these techniques in the dramatics of the film.
